For the price, my room was large enough for one person and had a proper private door and lock, not just a bed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and could speak some simple English. Amenities included a microwave, hot and cold water, free tea, daily towel changes, and a fridge. There’s a convenience store and supermarket nearby, and the bus stop is a two-minute walk away, with buses to Tokyo Station, Asakusa and Skytree, Ueno, and Minami Senju. Trip.com helped me get what seemed like one of the lowest prices in Tokyo. There are only two shower rooms. Minami Senju, the nearest train station, is about a 15-minute walk. If it’s raining and you have luggage, I’d suggest taking a taxi since there’s no covered walkway along the route.

An older-style hostel on the outskirts of Tokyo, with small rooms that work well for a few nights in the city. You can choose a bathtub, and there’s a washing machine as well as shared showers. The H Line connects it well to the center.

The place is peaceful and quiet, and I slept better here than I ever have. The staff and other guests were kind, and everything was clean, with daily cleaning and no unpleasant smells. The room is small and only has a Futon, but if you know what you're booking, it gives you what you need. The showers are shared, which feels less private and comfortable. Still, during my five days, I never ran into anyone in there, and people were very respectful.

The traditional Japanese room had tatami mats and futons, and for the price I found the stay comfortable with good facilities. The shower room is open around the clock with hot water. There’s a small sink that looks like a urinal, but it’s just for washing hands. Toilets include both squat and Western-style options, though there’s no bidet or water sprayer, which matters for Indonesian guests. Most amenities are in the shared area: microwave, hairdryer, hot water dispenser, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. In the room I had a mini fridge, TV, slippers, towels, and a yukata. Tap water is drinkable, and bottled water from the vending machine inside costs ¥100. Check-in starts at 14:00, and checking out is simple, just leave your key in the box. We stayed for our last three days in Tokyo. It’s about a 17-minute walk from Minami-Senju Station, with several konbini nearby, including 7-Eleven, Lawson, and Shimadaya. There’s a lift, which was handy since we were on the fourth floor.
