Business Hotel Sunlight Bekkan

I had a fantastic three nights here. The hotel is old and charming, the rooms are clean, and the front desk staff were great. I like older hotels for their history, and this one felt like a hidden gem. It's just like the Selfin Hotel Higashisenba in Tokushima City. I'll keep coming back whenever I'm in Tokyo. Thank you very much.

I had to stay here for a week on a business trip, and I wouldn't come back. The free breakfast was appreciated, but the whole place smelled bad. The hallways were dark and stuffy, and the old room windows didn't open, so it felt stifling. The room itself was old, cramped, and smelly. I was glad there was a convenience store nearby because I quickly bought a plug-in air freshener. The slippers had been reused, and finding an old bandage stuck inside was awful. The ceiling air conditioner was right above the bed and made me feel sick.

I can put up with a room being old and small, but the musty smell here made my throat tingle within a minute. There was mold all over the wallpaper between the bed and the wall. This is unacceptable. Avoid this place.

The front desk staff were polite, and breakfast was included. But the air conditioner and refrigerator were pretty loud, and I could hear the bath filling in the room next door. At night, when things quieted down, traffic, drunk people, and planes were also bothersome. Maybe the room windows don't seal properly?
