Designer Hotel Siesta

The room was comfortable, clean, nicely presented, and spacious by Tokyo standards. We enjoyed our eight nights there, and fresh towels were left by the door each day, with the used ones taken away when we put them outside. But there was no room service at all, so rubbish piled up and we didn't get fresh sheets. The washing machine was fine, but the coin dryer took three hours and still left some clothes damp, so we hung those up in the room. The hotel was loud: people partied outside, and we could hear taps and toilets through the night, along with the street noise. It's a solid 15-minute walk from the station, which we hadn't realized when booking. The distance and noise make me unsure I'd return, even though the stay itself was comfortable.

That little studio was just right for us, and the bed was the most comfortable one I've had in Japan. The bathroom was small, but the shower was great. I only wish we'd stayed longer. The station is about a 15-minute walk away, which is the one downside.

I got fresh towels, drinks, and toiletries every day. The bed was fantastic, although the view from the room was just a wall and the air conditioning was tricky to adjust. For the room and location, the price felt a little steep. An older woman who didn't speak English met me, but it wasn't a problem. She kindly helped me get everything working properly.

The room was a nightmare for our three-night stay. We'd booked two single beds, but ended up sharing one small bed with my sister. There was nowhere to put our luggage, so we kept tripping over everything. It was the tiniest room we've ever seen, nothing like the photos, with a mattress on the floor and a feel like a homeless bunk. The property is about a ten-minute walk from the metro and the area is very quiet. Before arriving, we received five emails saying the booking had been cancelled and telling us not to come. I didn't see them until I was at the door. We buzzed, waited 20 minutes, then a woman showed up, had our booking, and we got into the room. At least it was only £38 a night.
