It can be a little dirty, but it’s a party hostel, so what do you expect? lol If that’s not your thing, just book a hotel room. The atmosphere is really nice, and even though I was busy and hardly there, I still made friends from all over the world. The hostel is right by the subway and about a 40-minute walk from Akihabara, with plenty of accommodations next door. I can’t really comment on the bunk beds, but my “anime girls” room was neat and comfortable.

The checkout staff member seemed unenthusiastic, and when I mentioned that I’d hit my head on the extremely low ceiling upstairs, they just shrugged. There wasn’t a sign warning about it, and the ceiling really was that low. The bed mattress also wasn’t clean enough. You get what you pay for, I suppose. If you only need a place to rest and don’t mind some untidiness, it’ll probably be fine.

Some nights people talk and yell until 3 am. The hostel should remind guests that this is a residential area with people living nearby. And the smoking too, don’t smoke where it’s not allowed. It’s absolutely inconsiderate and uncivil.

The staff were wonderful and made the stay even better. I had a private room on the third floor, and it was a great deal for the price. The bar on the first floor was a nice place to meet other travelers and find people to do things with. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Tokyo.

It’s not the most modern place, but everything was clean. This is one of the most social hostels I’ve been to, with really nice staff. A great choice if you want to have fun and meet people.
