Hotaku HOTEL

We liked the room size, especially by Japan standards, and would stay here again if we return to Tokyo. We were a family of four, with kids aged 10-12, and stayed three nights and four days. The room listing said it could sleep five; the three beds worked well for the four of us, but five people with luggage might be a squeeze. The area is somewhat industrial, though a few train lines are within working distance, which made getting around convenient. It's a self serve hotel from check in through check out, which suited us since we didn't need much service. Our room wasn't cleaned during the stay, but we could pick up fresh towels in the lobby and leave used ones in the laundry basket outside the elevator on our floor.

The room was clean and spacious, even if the wallpaper was a bit strange. The hotel feels like it was made from an apartment layout, and the room even had a balcony. It's about 700-800m from Akihabara station, with a few turns along the way, and there are plenty of eateries and yamazaki daily stores around. There's no receptionist on duty, so you have to call for someone. When they came, they were polite and attentive enough.

We booked a spacious room for five days and four nights so we'd have space to open our luggage. The hotel was clean and the location felt peaceful. They said room service would be every three days, but our room wasn't cleaned during the stay. If you want service, you can request it by hanging something on the door. After about 9 or 10pm there was mostly no one in the lobby to help, though there was free water.

The staff were very nice and helped us look into ways to get from the hotel to Narita airport. We stayed with two other family members, and the room size suited us well. It also had a kitchen and an in-suite laundry machine, which we used almost every day. The location was great too, close enough for evening walks to Sensoji temple and the 24H Don Quiote.
