Hotel Hillarys Akasaka

My friend and I had a great time staying here on our Tokyo vacation. The rooms were very clean, especially when housekeeping cleaned them while we were out. The staff were super friendly and spoke English and Japanese. We also loved the beautiful roof terrace. The location felt perfect, with a metro station only a short walk away, and it’s very accessible, pretty much in the middle of Tokyo. I’d recommend it to plenty of people visiting Japan, and I definitely plan to stay again.

The staff made our stay especially easy. We needed several late check-outs, which were complimentary, and extended our booking by an extra night after the first three. They handled it all smoothly and warmly. They even spent quite a while helping me call a car rental company, which I really appreciated. We tried two room types: a small 12 m² room with a king size bed, which is normal for Tokyo, and a larger 18 m² room with a smaller double bed. Both held our luggage, one large suitcase, two cabin bags and two other bags. The hotel is centrally located, with easy access to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Meguro, plus plenty of restaurants, konbinis, a pharmacy and a BIC camera store nearby. There’s also a cafe across the street with tasty coffee and sandwiches. Good value for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it. Thanks again to the staff for all their help.

We arrived without a reservation, and the staff quickly helped us book the dates we needed. The room was larger than I expected, very clean, and had a really comfortable bed. Hotel Hillarys is also well placed for the train stations and nearby restaurants. There’s a beautiful garden terrace for guests. We only used it once, but I’m glad we got to see it.

This was a solid, affordable base for sleeping and showering while we explored Tokyo. The lively business area has great transit links and plenty of food, coffee and konbini nearby. Staff were friendly, and free coffee and water in the lobby were a nice bonus. The room was tidy and clean, small but fine with our backpacks. Large suitcases would have a hard time. The AC worked well, and the firm bed was comfortable. The bathroom was cramped but usable, and having the sink in the main room felt odd, though it was fine. We didn’t use the restaurant or bath, so I can’t speak to those.
