There’s a convenience store next door, which I recommend. Among enthusiasts, it’s well known that this FamilyMart was Tokyo’s last remaining "Circle K Sunkus Yoshiwara store" when all "Circle K Sunkus" locations ceased operating and became FamilyMart through a brand integration on November 30, 2018. The nearby Yoshiwara Shrine once enshrined five Inari shrines and Benzaiten as guardian deities of the Shin-Yoshiwara pleasure district. It’s known as a power spot said to grant women’s wishes, and there’s a story that courtesans still devote themselves to it. The hotel itself is a lovely business hotel in Yoshiwara, and the rates are quite reasonable, so I think I’ll stay again. Hotels have long been present in Yoshiwara, though they didn’t seem like places ordinary guests could stay. With changing times, the impact of inbound tourism around Asakusa, and even a recent historical drama’s influence, it feels like the area is now frequented by people different from its original male customers.

I don’t even want to give it a 1. I used the service for a long time. They said they’d store my luggage for three months after my last stay, but their management was sloppy. I had to move and there was a gap between my last stay and picking up my bags, so that part was my fault. Still, I left them in a busy area with no cameras, and sure enough, my luggage went missing. Staff emptied some of the contents into a garbage bag. When I asked about it, they didn’t apologize. They laughed at me, made fun of me and blamed everything on me, probably the male staff member in charge. It felt like their policy was to blame customers for poor management instead of discussing what might happen if something went wrong. The man was inefficient and seemed to be doing something else while on the phone. Even though I explained things simply, he kept asking me the same question and talked about the same thing for an hour, lol. He said, "I have no proof, but I trust the staff 100%." Then he also said, "However, my luggage was in danger, so I wrapped it in duct tape!" How can he call it "dangerous" while trusting them 100%? LOL. And what about the staff who go through other people’s luggage and put it in another bag? Never check any luggage! It will get lost!
