K5 Hotel

The rooms are roomy and thoughtfully designed, with great bathrooms, vinyl, and plants. Anyone who likes design will appreciate the details. Some rooms look onto the highway, though the windows keep the noise down to about white noise level. Just keep in mind there isn’t a view. The staff were excellent.

The staff were attentive, which fits a boutique hotel with just 20 rooms. We stayed four nights in February 2026 at the start of our latest Japan trip, and I’d absolutely come back. If you’re into Japandi interiors, this place is a great fit. The room had a high-quality sound system, a record player that really added something, and a distinctive red light feature on the bathroom mirror. We happened to get Joni Mitchel's 'Mingus' album, a lovely surprise. Coming from a desert country and not having experienced real winter for a few years, the peak-winter weather shocked my system. We asked for a humidifier, and they promptly brought us a proper, powerful one. Breakfast wasn’t included, but we went to Cafe Dance a few times for breakfast, coffee, and casual snacks. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was very good. On the first night we had dinner at Maruyama, where the food was amazing and the shochu-centered concept was unique. Definitely worth trying.

The staff showed wonderful Japanese hospitality, and the concierge helped us with several reservations. We were there for the first stop of a three-week Japan trip, my first time back and my wife’s first visit. The hotel was nice, though it had a few unusual quirks, nothing bad. Our room was spacious for Japan, with a comfortable bed in the center. There was no TV, but we didn’t miss it while exploring Tokyo, and the record player setup was great. The station was about two blocks away, and the hotel was directly across the street from the Japanese Stock Exchange. I’d highly recommend it.

The bar is intimate and stylish, with great bartenders. We loved the K5's relaxed boutique feel and the team who made the stay so comfortable. Our room was a joy to return to after a long day in Tokyo, especially the comfortable seating area, snacks, and minibar. The yukata robes were so nice we bought some to take home. It’s rare to feel properly relaxed in a hotel room. We hope to return to Tokyo and stay at K5 again.
