Livemax Ueno-Ekimae Hotel

The room felt a bit old, and the air conditioner blows straight toward the bed. Still, everything worked fine, so I'd give it four stars. The hot water was consistent, and the light switches by the bed made it easy to turn them off. The room is small, but acceptable for a hotel near a major station. Ueno station is about a 5-10 minute walk away, and the staff were quite polite.

We stayed for five days and had a good time. Our room on the 4th floor was nice, and the staff were really friendly. Ueno Station, the Keisei Skyliner, 7-11, and Family mart are all nearby. I'd recommend this hotel to friends going to Japan!

The room is small, but it has a lot of facilities: self-laundry, vending machines, cleaning service, and the option to leave luggage before check-in. The staff were very kind to me. There's also a foreigner manager to help foreign customers, though you can speak Japanese with the Japanese staff if you need help or want to make a request. The subway station is quite close, about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel to Uenokoen Station.

Everyone on staff whom I dealt with was very nice and tried to help. The problem was the cigarette smell. We hadn't booked a smoking room, but ours still smelled of smoke. We asked to move, and the other room smelled too. It was noticeable in the corridors as well. There are plenty of other affordable places around Tokyo that would be a much better choice.
