For a solo traveler, the room had what I needed and was quiet, apart from the occasional siren outside, which didn’t bother me much. The price felt a little high, though it’s still affordable compared with other Tokyo hotels. Staff were patient and professional when I asked for sheets or towels, early check-in, and late checkout. There’s no daily cleaning, so you have to change the sheets and take out the rubbish yourself. Food is easy to find nearby, including places like Matsuya that serve meals 24 hours. It’s about a 10-minute walk to JR Otsuka station, with somewhat steep steps, and 15-20 minutes to Marunouchi Line. I used my Tokyo subway day card to get around from Shin-Otsuka, and there’s also a tram line near the hotel.

The location was convenient for exploring, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable, with a nice place to relax. I had a lovely stay and would happily come back.

The bed and pillows were the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel, and we ended up booking somewhere else and leaving. There’s a fire department or something nearby, and the thin windows let the sirens through so badly. The station is about a 10-minute walk away, but there isn’t good food around. Save yourself the trouble and don’t stay here.

The staff were excellent and helped with all my questions and service requests. A major train station nearby made it easy to get around Tokyo. But one of my bed sheets was dirty, so they really need to check them before putting them on the beds. I expected a small room, which was fine, but it needs an upgrade, and there’s lots of wall space that could be put to better use.

I was hesitant because the Google reviews seemed too low, but honestly there was nothing to worry about. The room was a good size and very clean, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Lots of amenities, too. Great value for the price.
