Hotel Resol Ikebukuro

I only needed one brief night here after problems with my inbound flight, which was delayed and then cancelled. The staff were happy to change my reservation and not charge me for the night I missed, and the service was great in general. The room was clean and the size I expected from a single Japanese business hotel room. The bed was really comfortable, the pillows were great, and the bathroom was a good size and did what I needed. It's a bit far from the station, but the price I booked at was very, very good for Tokyo.

I stayed on the women's floor and felt comfortable coming and going later at night, around 10 to midnight. The hotel was clean, the room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Its subway access was excellent, though location is personal preference, and I liked it more than other places I've stayed in Tokyo. There's plenty to do right nearby, so the lack of a coin laundry wasn't a huge loss, even though the nearby laundry has no wash-and-dry option and is less convenient for travelers. The staff were very kind, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

My stay was horrible. Soon after checking in, my skin started itching. I looked more closely and saw bed bugs crawling on the sheets and mattress. I called the front desk right away, but communication was difficult because the staff could barely speak English. Even after I showed them photos, they wouldn't acknowledge that the problem came from the hotel. They were unwilling to take responsibility or offer a solution. Instead, they told me to see a doctor to prove the bites were from bed bugs, but wouldn't pay any of the doctor's fees. It felt as though they were trying to brush the matter aside instead of dealing with it properly. The whole thing was stressful, frustrating, and disappointing. They failed to handle the problem and showed no accountability or customer care. I'll never stay here again, and I strongly advise anyone considering it to think twice. Avoid at all costs.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and they brought fresh towels and bottled water every day. It's a modern, comfortable hotel with all the amenities you need.
