Hotel Resol Machida

The staff were all friendly, and I enjoyed the breakfast, even though it was a little different from what I’m used to. The rooms are small, but they work well. Renovations were going on; apart from having to move rooms, they didn’t affect my stay.

There are plenty of useful places just a few minutes away on foot, including convenience stores, restaurants, shops, and public transit. The main commercial area of Machida is also an easy walk. The hotel itself is clean and modern, with the usual amenities. There was some construction noise, though we’d been told about it the night before. The underground parking lot was a bit tricky to get into. A fun touch at check-in was a token for the capsule machine by the elevator, which gives out little snacks described as “Machida’s famous goodies.”

Getting around was easy since the hotel is near Machida Station, and there are good restaurants nearby, including Indian food, plus supermarkets that made the stay comfortable. The staff were extremely professional and excellent. Tea bags, toothbrushes, shaving kits, and other usable items are available at the entrance counter. My room was smaller than rooms I’ve stayed in in other countries, but the space was used efficiently, with everything arranged neatly. I also liked the Toto electronic toilet.

The Japanese breakfast buffet was a real highlight for us: lots of healthy, tasty options with a good mix of vegetables and meat. We loved the eggs, miso soup, rice, seaweed, tofu, and karaage. There isn’t Western food like toast or pancakes. The room was comfortable despite being small. With two large suitcases and one small one, it felt close to cramped but wasn’t inconvenient. Taller or larger people, especially sharing, might find it tight. If you’re around 6 feet and 250 lbs or more, it could be a squeeze. The location made handling our luggage easy. From Haneda, there’s a direct bus to Machida Station, and we could take the same bus back to the airport. The main Tokyo area is about 30 to 40 minutes away by train, which wasn’t bad, and the Odakyu line goes directly to Shinjuki station without transfers. Around the station we found Donki, Matsukiyo, convenience stores, nightlife streets with bars and restaurants, vintage shops, and an Animate branch. The malls have good shops like Loft and dessert spots. J.S. Pancakes is highly recommended!! The staff spoke good English, so communication was easy, and they were super nice and accommodating. The cleaning staff were sweet too, and greeted us whenever they saw us. I love this hotel and will definitely stay again.
