Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo - Roppongi

Azabudai Hills and Tokyo Tower are right behind the hotel, and there are lots of restaurants around. It’s directly above a subway station, which made the location excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious, and staff were helpful around the clock. We arrived early from the airport and got our room as soon as it was ready. The vending machine, coffee machine and laundry were handy on a first visit to Tokyo with so much to do.

The walk back from the JR and Ginza Line stations is around 15 minutes, and it can feel tiring after a full day sightseeing. Still, I found the hotel clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent, going beyond just being professional. They proactively contacted me because they couldn’t match my booking to the name provided by the luggage drop-off company. I realized my Agoda reservation hadn’t been fully confirmed with the hotel. With their help, I got it sorted before landing in Tokyo, which was a huge relief. Given the staff’s professionalism and the hotel’s comfort and value, I’d still recommend staying here.

The bathroom’s fog-free mirror was the best feature, and the location in Roppongi was good. The hotel otherwise felt like one from the 1970s or 1980s. Our first-floor room was tiny, with frosted glass we couldn’t see through. We hadn’t been given the room we reserved for multiple people, and at check-in were told the room could only hold two, so we had to book another room. At that point I wished we’d gone somewhere else. I can’t recommend this place and wouldn’t stay again.

The room for three of us was spacious, with a large enough shower and toilet. It felt like an upgrade from the usual small-room hotel we’d stayed in before, even though the building isn’t high-tech and some shared facilities show its age. The location is central, right by Roppongi-Itchome subway and Izumi Garden Tower. It’s about 3 km from the major locations and 4 km from Tokyo station or Shinagawa station. We’ll come back…
