Hotel Vista Tokyo Tsukiji

For all six nights, sleeping was very uncomfortable because the so-called double bed was only 120 cm wide. We were travelling with our baby, who sleeps between my wife and me, and we’re both quite tall. I’d called ahead because I know beds and rooms in Japan can be small, and was specifically assured that the room we booked had a large bed. We asked to move to a larger bed room. Availability meant that could only happen for our last night, and they said we’d have to pay the price difference, even though the problem came from the incorrect information before we arrived. The extra was barely 20€, so I thought they could have offered it in light of what happened. It wasn’t really about the money, but about customer satisfaction. For a six-night stay with a baby, I found this disappointing and not very customer- or family-friendly.

The location was quiet, a good way to get away from the noise in Ginza. Rooms were a little more spacious than I expected for this area. Everything met expectations, and check-in went smoothly. I could leave my luggage without any trouble.

It’s a standard Japanese business hotel room, but comfortable and clean, with easy check-in and checkout. The location is convenient: Ginza and Tsukiji outer market are within walking distance, the Tsukiji bus stop is just behind the hotel (you can check it in Google maps), and metro lines are nearby too. I’d definitely recommend it.

The hotel isn’t very central for tourist areas, and the metro isn’t especially close, so I wouldn’t recommend it for sightseeing. I also don’t get how making the bed has anything to do with being eco-friendly. I understand not changing sheets or giving out towels every day, but making the bed doesn’t use water.
