ICI HOTEL Ueno Shin Okachimachi

It's less than a five minute walk to shin-okachimachi station, and a little under 15-20 minutes on foot to okachimachi and ueno stations. The rooms are small, as you'd expect from Tokyo hotels, but comfortable enough and stocked with the basics like a refrigerator, hair dryer, and slippers. The walls seem to keep sound out well. I didn't hear anything from the hallway or neighboring rooms.

The room was clean, and the whole hotel is non smoking, so there was no stench. I liked being able to open the window for cool autumn air, and the air conditioning worked well. The hot shower had strong pressure and the WiFi was fast. There were only two pillows, and I wish there had been extra ones and a luggage rack. The hotel is one metro stop from Ueno, making it easy to get to the airport on the Keisei Skyliner.

The front desk employees could have been a bit friendlier, since they often didn't greet us. Still, the hotel was clean and the room service was excellent. It's a good, affordable place, and it has a bigger room option with a double bed, which is rare in Tokyo. Both the metro and bus station are within walking distance.

The service was great, and I had no issues during my stay. The room was small but had all I needed for a week in Japan. It's close to several stations, so getting around Tokyo was easy, and Sensoji temple and Akihabara are within walking distance.
