Koko Hotel Residence Asakusa Kappabashi

The full kitchen and washer/dryer in the room made everything so convenient, and the space was surprisingly generous for Tokyo. KOKO HOTEL Residence Asakusa Kappabashi was spotless and really well maintained. The design made good use of the room, and we found it comfortable and practical. Highly recommend for a Tokyo visit!

I think I’ve stayed here 4-5 times now, and it’s one of my favorite hotels in Tokyo. The customer service is on point, and the rooms are more spacious than many others in the city. It’s quiet enough to sleep well, but still an easy walk to whichever station you want. The Tokyo metro stations are about 13 minutes away, handy if you’re using a metro pass. It’s also fairly close to an airport bus, and the hotel offers luggage transfers.

It’s a nice place for a Japanese experience, as long as you’re not expecting luxury. The hotel was a great find, especially for its location near attractive tourist areas, the subway, and the rail station. You still have to walk a few minutes to reach the trains. My only real drawback was communicating with the staff in English. We didn’t need much help, but arranging luggage forwarding was challenging. Bring a Translate app if you can. Otherwise, it was a really good Tokyo stay.

The air conditioning worked well, and there was a fridge. The room also had a kitchen, bathroom, extra bunk bed, washing machine, dining table, and sofa, but they were all crammed into a very tiny space. We had to enter a code each time we used the lift, which was a nuisance. The bed was the biggest letdown. It felt like a hard slab of wood, the mattress was poor, and we only got one small, thin pillow. We booked a double but were given two singles. That’s usually fine, but with the bed quality they didn’t line up properly. The location and hotel service were good, though some staff were friendlier than others.
