The suite is roomy, clean, and quiet, with essential shops close by. The subway, a grocery store, and Yoshinoya are all nearby. Guests do have to take out their own garbage, and someone will explain Japan’s garbage sorting system. That’s handy to know as a foreigner. All in all, a great place to stay.

The neighborhood is quiet, so it was easy to get a good night's sleep after a day of walking around and shopping. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby too. The apartment hotel is close to a Tokyo Metro station, which made getting to and from the airport manageable even with big pieces of luggage. From Narita on the Keisei Skyliner, get off at Keisei Ueno, transfer to the Hibiya line, and leave the train at Minowa station. Kyukyu Hotel is near the Negishi Library, so use the stairs or elevator on that side.

The rooms are small, but clean and cozy. It’s not far from the metro, and there’s convenient bus access and convenience stores nearby. This may be the only hotel I’ve stayed at that asked guests to sort and throw out their own trash.

It’s a small room, but fine for the lower price, and fairly clean. There are English-speaking staff. You’ll need to take out the garbage yourself, and they don’t transfer luggage to your next hotel. There’s a 7 eleven or Yamato nearby if you need to arrange that.

We stayed for 12 nights in December 2023. The room was spacious enough for 5-6 people, with a laundry area on the balcony, an elevator, and a washing machine, though no dryer. They also let us leave luggage temporarily in the L1 area. It’s in a local suburban area, about 2-3 stops from Ueno or Asakusa. There are lots of convenience stores and a pharmacy, plus a few restaurants such as Sukiya and Domino. The price was very affordable in 2023, though it’s been going up over the years. Be aware that the local Minowa train gets crowded during weekday morning rush hour. Squeezing in with the locals is an experience.
