Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo

The standout for me was lunch at Pizza Bar on the 38th. I never expected pizza to be presented at such a refined, fine dining level. Breakfast was also a treat each morning, especially the croissants, crisp and delicate outside with buttery flakes that practically burst in your mouth. We stayed at Mandarin Oriental Tokyo for three nights, and it was a wonderful visit that exceeded our expectations once again. The team upgraded us to a beautifully spacious, well-appointed room with stunning views of Mount Fuji, and watching the sunset over it from our room was unforgettable. Before we arrived, the concierge arranged our restaurant bookings efficiently through the app chat. Thank you to Mr Simon Cheung, Assistant Manager, for his warm, personal hospitality and attention to detail, which made us feel at home. Tanako Taketo was also a friendly server, and his warm smile made our meals more enjoyable. Mandarin Oriental Tokyo keeps setting a high standard for thoughtful luxury and service. We look forward to coming back.

The subway station right below the hotel makes getting around so easy. The rooms are starting to feel dated in their design, though they’re still well maintained, and I’d highly recommend the Mandarin Suite. The spa was wonderful too. The couples massage comes with amazing views, and the therapists were friendly and excellent at helping us feel refreshed. Don’t miss the sauna, steam room, or relaxation pools. Another great stay, with staff who were proactive, friendly, and professional.

The staff made us feel welcome the whole time, including our baby. They had a cot in the room with high-quality baby amenities. The room was spacious, clean, and well presented, with lovely cherry blossom paintings above the beds. Little touches, like clipping our cables neatly together, showed great attention to detail. On a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji, which I loved. Breakfast was divine, with both buffet and à la carte options. The hotel was even better than we expected.

The service here was world class. Staff gave us their WhatsApp contact details when we arrived and answered our questions quickly. Everyone was professional and courteous, and the food was excellent. Some packages include a huge in-room breakfast delivered at whatever time you choose, and many also include the beautiful spa and separate men's and women's facilities. We were treated to chocolates, fruit, and other thoughtful extras during the stay. This is one of the most extravagant hotels we’ve stayed in, and I can’t say enough good things about it.
