Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Haneda

I booked three rooms, but they weren’t close together, which made getting between them a hassle. Each room was fairly minimal, with basic amenities and a bathtub. The air conditioning was a little weak and took time to cool the whole room, though the hotel can lend you a fan. The TV shows whether washing machines are available and how crowded breakfast is. Breakfast the next morning, on L5 beside reception, had a good spread. The location inside Haneda Innovation City is convenient for Haneda airport. From Tenkubashi station, use exit A and take the lift up to L5 for the check-in counter. Check-in is easy, with key cards dispensed automatically. Guests can line up for the free shuttle to HND airport, which runs every hour from 7 am, but each trip is limited to 12 people. The shuttle ojisan deserves a shout-out: he helped with a lost-and-found item, chatted genuinely with my children on the way to the airport, and even gave them stickers.

Getting here from the train and monorail is easy, with escalators and lifts the whole way, so there’s no need to haul heavy bags up stairs. There is a shuttle bus, but I didn’t need it because both train and monorail are close and very affordable. There’s a Daily Yamazaki right next to the hotel, open until 11 pm, despite another review saying there were no convenience stores nearby. This is a brand-new hotel, and everything felt clean and comfortable. My room was completely quiet, with no noise from outside or neighboring rooms. I’d asked for one away from the elevator and was told that wasn’t available, but the room I got was plenty far away and perfectly quiet anyway. The shower pressure was excellent, the bed was firm with a comfortable duvet, and the rooftop had fantastic views of the Tokyo skyline. The air conditioner seemed to switch itself off, which was annoying. There are new Sony 4K smart TVs with all the major streaming apps, plus six washing machines. I always found one free, unlike at many hotels with just one or two.

On the rainy evening I arrived in Japan, they kindly lent me an umbrella so I could go explore right away. I stayed nine days and eight nights, from 23 April 2026 to 1 May 2026, and had no problems with my room, bathroom, or daily cleaning. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and check-in and check-out were smooth. As this was my first accommodation on my first visit to Japan, I was satisfied with the service. The hotel is one station from Haneda Airport, then a short walk away, and I believe it opened fairly recently. It has a gym, laundry, rooftop access, and an ice machine with cups, which was great because I love icy drinks. Cloudy weather kept me from checking out the rooftop much during the day, but one clear night the view was breathtaking. Breakfast is offered daily, either as a walk-in purchase or included in a booking deal, and I found it delicious. I was busy exploring the city late into the night, so I didn’t get to try the dinner menu.

The rooftop patio had absolutely stunning views, and the rooms were modern, roomy, and thoughtfully designed, with a nice balance of style and comfort. The free shuttle to Haneda Airport made travel day smooth and easy. Shops and restaurants aren’t right next door, though, and you’ll need about a ten-minute walk to reach the nearest ones. If a short stroll is fine with you, the amenities and stay more than make up for it. Hotel Metropolitan Haneda was a comfortable, modern place to stay with great views and easy airport access.
