MIMARU Tokyo Ueno Inaricho

We liked how quiet the area was, though someone wanting to be in the middle of Tokyo's busy districts might prefer another location. From here, it was an easy walk to either Inaricho on the Ginza Line or Ueno station. Our family of four found the room very clean and well suited to us: the table benches turned into single beds for the kids, and there was a kitchenette for keeping breakfast food, useful with our early mornings from the time change. The hotel also has coin laundry, and the staff were very helpful.

The location worked well for us, within walking distance of Ueno train station, and the staff were lovely and offered recommendations. Our two-year-old had room to run around in the washitsu (traditional Japanese room), which was great. The room felt spacious compared with other hotels in Japan and was very clean, including the bathroom. Having a fridge and freezer, microwave, and stove was useful. Highly recommend.

The staff made a lasting impression, with friendly service, helpful tips for restaurants and attractions, and real attentiveness when we needed it. We'd happily choose a Mimaru again because of them. Our family also appreciated this quieter part of Ueno after long days out. The station and park are still an easy walk away, and the Ginza subway line is close. The apartment setup suited us well with a toddler. There was room for play and snack prep in the spacious-for-Japan room, and they provided a crib and high chair. We had a fantastic stay at Mimaru Ueno Inaricho.

Ueno quickly became my favorite Tokyo neighborhood. It's relaxed, with easy train connections and shopping nearby, including the kitchenware district just a short walk away. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help when we had a luggage transport problem at our previous hotel. We really appreciated it. There's laundry and a vending machine on site, and I'd gladly stay again, especially with family. We were there for three nights in October. The room was a good size for our family group, with two full beds, a dining space with two banquettes, a small kitchen with a stovetop, microwave, fridge, sink and exhaust hood, plus a decent-sized shower and tub and a large closet. The style is simple modern, with a few character touches, and it was comfortable.
