Minn Ueno

We chose this hotel partly because of the bunk beds, which made the room feel more open and left us room to move around. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were quite firm 😅, and there’s a laundry room downstairs. It’s convenient for the station, and nearby shops made it easy to buy toothbrushes, tea, or bottled water, since those basics aren’t provided. That made the rate feel a bit high for what was included. There’s no full-time front desk, so late arrivals might have trouble checking in or getting help. We arrived during the day and a staff member was there to assist us.

For wheelchair access, there are no steps at the entrance and the hotel has an elevator. The rooms are spacious with step-free entry. The bathroom is a little tight, though smaller wheelchairs should fit. I stayed for a week and would absolutely return. It was in a quiet part of Ueno, close enough to walk to major attractions and train stations. We went to Ameyoko Market and Ueno Park every day. The spacious rooms, fully equipped kitchen, and dining table made this a practical and comfortable option for families. Front desk staff were attentive and helpful, and we were given a higher floor with a really nice view.

Check-in and checkout were very easy, and I hope we can return someday. The room worked well for our family of 4 people. The kids slept comfortably on the sofa beds, and the amenities were all good. We especially liked the shower and the medium size fridge. We were very happy with the stay.

The keyless passcode was handy, since there was no key card to carry around or worry about losing. The location was extremely convenient, just across the street from Ameyoko Market, with 7-Eleven and Family Mart all around. The room was very large, with plenty of space for guests and luggage. The bathroom and toilet areas were separate and wide. The kitchen was ready for a longer stay, with a stove, microwave, dish soap, and a huge fridge.
