Mita Kaikan

A good base for independent travel, especially since the hotel is close to the station. I stayed here for New Year and found it ideal. Tokyo Tower and Sojoji Temple are very nearby, where you can experience the lively Japanese New Year celebrations.

For the area, this is probably the cheapest hotel near Hamamatsu chou station. The room was okay and quiet, and access to the Mita metro line was good, though JR station is about a 10-minute walk away. The front desk is on the 2nd floor. I ordered breakfast for 900 yen, I think. Most of the choices were porridge, and unfortunately it was bland to the point of being unreasonable.

Good value for the money, with friendly staff. It's a typical Tokyo economy hotel, so the room was small as expected, but it seemed quite new. I stayed in Oct 2025. After getting off the Shinkansen at Shinagawa Station, it took me under 25 minutes to get there, changing to the JR Line for two more local stops. Shiba Park, right next to Tokyo Tower, is a 5-10 minute walk away.

For what I paid, everything was good. Still, the whole hotel felt a little damp, even before the high humidity season.
