Mitsui Garden Hotel Ueno Tokyo

The staff were warm, helpful, and professional, but breakfast was the weakest part for me, with very few options and little variety. The room had enough space to open a large suitcase, though it felt old and smelled unpleasant. At around THB 10,000 a night, I expected more. Location-wise, it's very convenient: about a 600-meter walk to Ameyoko Market over the pedestrian bridge through Ueno Station, and Takeya (Purple Building) is also walkable.

The staff were exceptionally thoughtful and kind, and the room was cozy, very clean, and larger than I expected. We spent five days here and enjoyed it. Being so close to Ueno station was the main reason we picked the hotel. There’s a Family Mart across the street and lots of places to eat within a five-minute walk. I also appreciated having an air purifier in the room.

It felt homey, and I’d definitely come back. The staff were really friendly and got everything sorted quickly. The location is great for getting to Keisei Ueno Station, JR Ueno, Chuo City Tokyo, and Asakusa, and you can walk to Ameyoko market for good food even at night. The room looked nice, had great lighting, and the view of Ueno station was amazing. The hair dryer was powerful too. My small gripes: I wish the shower holder angle could be adjusted, and the TV was a little small, though I doubt many guests watch much anyway.

The location was handy, but the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly before we arrived, with hair in several places. The rest of the hotel was just average and didn't leave us with anything especially memorable.
