Nomad Hostel Classic

This hostel is a complete dump. If they ask you to sign a no refund agreement before you've even seen the room, that's a red flag. Another guest had asked for a refund too. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Find somewhere else for your holiday, you deserve better.

The entrance was awkwardly narrow, and getting in and out with my three pieces of luggage was a bit hard. In the end, it wasn't a big deal. The hostel was clean throughout, and the staff were very polite. I'm an experienced hostel traveler, and this was a really nice, cozy place to spend a week in August. I found and booked it through booking, and the reviews were right. The location worked well for me: around a 10-15 minute walk to the train station and the main sights in asakusa, including senso-ji temple, tokyo skytree, sumida river, plus restaurants and shops. There's a convenience store right outside. I stayed in a shared room and had my own capsule, which was more spacious than I'd expected. The room had a shared toilet and small vanity area, while the showers were elsewhere in the hostel. There's also a shared kitchen and dining room, plus a little couch area where people hang out. If you smoke, there's a smoking area outside near the vending machine.

I stayed for seven nights. The beds are really large, towels are included, and the staff were very nice. The nearest Lawson has low prices and regularly discounts things after 19:00. The building is small, with narrow passageways to the rooms and very steep stairs. I don't think it would suit someone very large or elderly. The location itself is very good.

Had a wonderful four or five days here! The hostel was clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms and dorms weren't too bad, especially by Tokyo standards and for the price, though there's room to improve. One suggestion: please put a small fan by each dorm bed.
