Ours Inn Hankyu

Having a supermarket, restaurants, FamilyMart, an onsen, and a pharmacy directly connected to the hotel made everything really easy. The location is right across from Oimachi station. Our twin room was comfortable, clean, simple, and spacious by Tokyo standards, and everything worked properly. The hotel only has single and twin rooms, so families or larger groups would need to split up. Service is limited, for example you have to collect extra blankets and pillows yourself, but for the room, price, and convenience, that was fine for us. We'd stay again.

We picked this hotel for our first night after landing because getting there from Haneda airport was easy, and it was convenient for reaching the Shinkansen the next day. It's an inexpensive, cheerful place right by Oimachi Station in Shinagawa, with lots of capacity. We booked the Cinnamoroll room, which matched its description and came with plenty of gifts. The standard rooms are pretty basic and have fewer amenities than some hotels at this price, though there are other facilities, including two restaurants, one serving Western breakfast and one Japanese. We slept through breakfast, unfortunately. There's also a spa. We bought two tickets for ¥500 each, but the facilities weren't tattoo friendly, so we didn't use them and were given a full refund. The staff were friendly and very helpful. With a comfortable bed, a cute themed room, and plenty of services nearby, I'd recommend it.

Getting around was easy, and the hotel is very convenient, about 30 minutes at most from Haneda airport. The streamlined setup means you basically check yourself in and out, with little contact with staff. Our twin room was small, though that may be standard for Tokyo, and the bed felt a bit low. The shower was the biggest annoyance: you have to keep pressing a bar to make the water run, otherwise it shuts off after 15 seconds. That kind of system is common in large hot springs, but I hadn't seen it in a city hotel. We're unsure about coming back. If we find another hotel at a similar price, we'd probably choose that.

The main letdown was breakfast. There weren't many Western choices: two kinds of bread, with jam as the only topping. Some cheese or meat for the bread would have been useful for tourists staying here. I know the hotel serves more than just tourists, so it doesn't all need to cater to us, but that was the one real downside. The rest of our stay was great. My mom and I had a lovely time, the room was clean and fairly spacious, and the beds were big and comfortable. Slippers and pajamas were provided to wear around the hotel. The location is excellent, directly above a supermarket and some restaurants, and about a five minute walk from public transport. There's also an outdoor smoking area.
