I regretted booking this place as soon as I arrived and realized there was nobody there to help. You have to work out check-in by yourself, and there’s no real service at all. The washer didn’t work, there was no dryer, and a horrible smell under the counter reminded me of a dead animal. It’s not near any beautiful attractions, either. When we arrived early to check out, we hoped to leave our bags and walk around town. We couldn’t. We ended up sleeping in the lobby for hours until someone finally came by and we could ask them to hold our luggage. This was the only bad part of my trip. I’ve never stayed anywhere this awful. What a joke.

The apartment made a much more comfortable base for our group than a standard hotel room. We had plenty of space, natural light from the balcony, a sofa and TV, and two comfortable beds with fresh linens. The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, stovetop, utensils, and a dining table, so we could make simple halal meals. The separate toilet and bath were clean, with a deep tub, good shower pressure, and refillable shampoo and body soap. We also made good use of the in-room washer and drying rack before our hike. We stayed at Randor Residence Tokyo Annex for three nights from 30 July 2025, booking two apartments before heading to Kawaguchiko for our Mt. Fuji hike. The price was very reasonable. Machiya Station is under a ten-minute walk away, and halal restaurants are also within walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe, with local shops, bicycles, and vending machines selling drinks for JPY180. It’s not a touristy area, which we liked, and at night the apartment and shop lights give the streets a cozy feel. From the higher floors, we could see modern high-rises alongside older buildings with rooftop gardens. At night, streetlights and signboards gave the area a soft glow. Check-in was smooth, with clear English instructions, and the apartments were kept clean. The peaceful setting, space, and facilities suited our group well. It was easy to settle in, get some rest, and get ready for the next part of the trip.

I liked everything about this place. It’s a little way from the major cities, but that wasn’t much of an issue.

It’s huge and clean, and the subway is 450 meters away. Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around, too. The only downside is being a bit far from Tokyo. With a child, taking the subway into Tokyo between 7-10 am means dealing with packed trains. If you’re adults, it’s okay.

The unit was clean, roomy, and good value. It’s also close to a convenience store, including 7-11, lawson, and family mart, and not far from the metro, tram, and train stations.
