Sadachiyo

We had a great stay and would recommend it if you're after something different from a standard hotel. It was a foreigner-friendly Japanese ryokan: we slept on futons in a tatami room, and could try yukatas and the Japanese-style spa. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even gave us wooden charms. The location is in a popular sightseeing area, with Lightning gate, Skytree, rickshaw tours, kimono rentals, and plenty of food stalls all within walking distance. The bathroom had a slightly musty smell, but the friendly staff and amenities more than made up for it.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the stay was pleasant. It's a short walk to the subway and generally close to a lot of attractions. By Tokyo standards the room was a decent size, maybe a little bigger. My only gripe is that one elevator has to serve the whole building, but it's not a big deal.

After a long day, the wooden bath was just what I needed. It was relaxing, and I only had time to try that one. The staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful, almost too cute to handle. A great place to stay, especially if you’re open to trying something new.

The traditional room and the relaxing baths made for a lovely stay at Sadachiyo. Everyone was welcoming and ready to help, and I really appreciated that warm hospitality. If you want an authentic Japanese experience, I’d give this place a try.
