We chose the largest room and liked it. It’s spacious, with a big bed, a work table for two, and a sofa. The washer-dryer worked well, the bath was lovely to soak in, and the mini kitchen had a useful, good-sized fridge. The hotel has a trendy look, and the staff are polite and very helpful. Housekeeping costs extra. Set back from the Main Street, it was quiet at night. Getting around is easy, with access to four lines and the monorail from two stations within a seven-minute walk. There are lots of places to eat, though some close on Sundays since it’s a business district. Two convenience stores are within five minutes, and there’s a bakery next door. I wish there’d been a vacuum cleaner in the room. They supplied something to mop with, but it wasn’t good for picking up little bits. A basic metal ramp at the entrance would help too, since there are two steps. I saw a lot of solo women travelers struggling with their luggage there.

The location is handy, about a three-minute walk from Hamamatsucho Station, and communication was prompt, even through Booking.com. I’d stay again. The serviced apartment was very clean. The kitchen had everything for basic cooking, though I didn’t need to use it, and there was a laundry machine with detergent. There’s a small balcony for fresh air. The bed was large and comfortable, but took up so much space that moving from the balcony side without bumping the TV was tricky. The shower ceiling is low. I’m 160cm and even I found it a little tight, so it could be hard for taller people.

This was my second time at Section L Hamamatsucho, and I hope to come back. It’s great value, super convenient for transport and amenities, and the staff are very helpful. The kitchenette is what wins me over, since I need to stick to a particular diet. The washer-dryer works well too. I chose a cheaper room this time, so it had a shower but no bathtub, and no sofa. My first room was larger and had both. There wasn’t much space to exercise, so I had to do it on the bed, though there would have been room on the hallway floor. Maybe the hotel could offer yoga mats as optional equipment.

The room was well soundproofed. We only heard the neighbors now and then, and the area was quiet at night, so we slept well. There are a few toiletries downstairs by the desk, like toothbrushes and toothpaste, if you’ve forgotten yours. It’s an easy place to get around from, close to two stations that connect to different Tokyo neighborhoods. I was very satisfied with my stay.

We spent a little over three months at Section L during a family emergency in Japan, and we’ll remember it fondly. The space suited our needs, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel has lots of personality, with nice extras like Thursday happy hours. Both Hamamatsucho and Daimon stations are a short walk away. Together they connect to two major overground lines, including the Yamanote line, two subway lines, and the monorail. Between those services, you can get directly to either Tokyo airport. The neighborhood is quiet enough for a good night’s sleep but still lively, with restaurants and convenience stores open.
