Shangri-La Tokyo

We came back after many years to celebrate our daughter’s birthday, and Shangri-La still didn’t disappoint. The service, food, and spacious room were all great, and the bed was so comfortable. We could use the swimming pool and gym without limits. Tokyo Station is within walking distance. Highly recommended.

The breakfast and executive lounge have a different way of serving drinks and important food: you order, and they bring it to you. You can order as often as you like, but at breakfast you can choose only one main course. There’s some flexibility with that, though. The standard is 2 eggs, but you can ask for 3, 4, or more. I’m not used to this style of service, and while they got some things right, I don’t think everyone will feel it’s exclusive. The room and location were excellent, with no complaints from me.

There’s a basement entrance where taxis stop, as well as an entrance on level 1, which is about a 2-minute walk from Tokyo Station and Daimaru. The room was spacious by Tokyo standards, and the amenities were complete, with more available on request. Staff tried to make guests comfortable and accommodate requests. Service was exceptional, from the bell staff to reception. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, especially inside Tokyo Station.

The Horizon Club staff and food options were outstanding, and the customer service and food throughout the hotel were among the best I’ve experienced. It does feel geared more toward business travelers, but the location is great and everything seemed just right. I’d say this is the best Shangri La Hotel I’ve stayed at, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.
