The views and hiking around one/Okutama are incredible. At the hostel, everything was simple but immaculate, and the food at the restaurant was delicious, as were the beer and sake. The staff were lovely and mostly spoke English. Most of the guests seemed to be Japanese rather than Western tourists. It was easy to get around, and the quiet, clean feel suited me well. I’d highly recommend it if you’re comfortable with a hostel.

The dinner at "Tanomi" was delicious, and their sake and beer were great too. The location and service were both wonderful. The whole place is bright and really clean, which is a big plus for shared lodging. The staff were professional, friendly, and genuinely nice to talk with. They made me feel welcome. I’m definitely coming back.

After getting turned around on the trains, friendly staff and good food were exactly what I needed. The workers were helpful and extremely nice, and the attached restaurant was great. The place itself is gorgeous, with comfortable sleeping quarters and nice hangout areas. I love capsule hotels, so I may be biased, but this is the best one I’ve stayed in. The cubbies make me feel like a bee in a hive, which is such a funny feeling. I’d rate it highly for a stopover, especially with a group.

I spent five days here after arriving in Japan while waiting for other plans to come together, and was so glad I stayed. The hotel is in a quiet family housing area, close to a little shrine and playground and a temple. It’s also very near the beautiful Tama River 50k Course and about a 10-minute walk from Hajima station. I hadn’t known the area before I arrived, so that was a lovely surprise. The staff were outstanding. They kept the place clean, answered questions quickly, and helped however they could. Since I didn’t have phone service, they called a taxi for me. They also offered blankets in the common area on chilly days. The facilities were all spotless and welcoming: fresh slippers at the entrance, a roomy dining area, a lounge with a desk for relaxing or working, a rentable workspace, reasonably priced bike rental, a clean, beautiful bathroom, plenty of storage, a washer and dryer, a kitchen, and an attached restaurant. The capsules were roomy, clean, and comfortable. I’m a pretty large person, but had space for personal things and still could stretch out at night. A large window in the capsule room let in natural light, and it wasn’t see-through.
