Super Hotel Premier Akihabara

I slept really well here, with no noise or light getting in, even though the window is right next to the bed. The room can be very dark if you want it that way, and there’s an onsen too. The only downside is the single elevator, which can mean a bit of a wait, but the good points matter much more to me.

The room felt spacious by Tokyo standards, and the onsen was nice. The staff were quick to respond, and despite being close to several metro stations, the location was surprisingly quiet. They’re just a 2-5 minute walk away. There’s only one elevator for all the floors, so I often waited longer than expected going to or from my room. It wasn’t enough to put me off. I’d stay again.

I liked how peaceful the Akihabara location felt, set by the river and away from the busy main station and subway, which are about five minutes away. The lobby is on the second floor, though the sign at the ground-floor entrance is easy to miss. The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast costs an extra 1100 yen and had freshly made tofu, eggs, meat, fruit, cereal and coffee. The onsen was easy to get to and had a bath, shower and extra toiletries. It had everything I needed.

Across my two separate visits to Tokyo, this was easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, even with basic requests. For the price, not having complimentary drinking water in the room was a major letdown. The AC and fridge were weak, and the room layout was awkward. The stay was disappointing.
