The lobby looks nice, and the staff were polite and professional, as you'd expect at a five-star Tokyo hotel. The suite was a very different story. I had a corner suite on the other top floor and expected something beautiful and luxurious, but the minimalist design made it feel like a government building, with almost no amenities. Honestly, it was depressing, and I'd put the room at three-star quality. It's nothing like suites I've had at five-star hotels, especially in Japan. Room service sent up a hamburger that was inedible. I didn't get a chance to say how I wanted it cooked, and both the beef and bacon were completely raw. It looked like they'd spent about three seconds cooking it. For context, I travel around Asia monthly, including Japan, South Korea, and China every other week, and stay only in five-star hotels. Across more than 20 business trips in Asia in the past 12 months, this room was my one disappointment.

The restaurant and bar, as well as our room, had an amazing view of Tokio Tower, and breakfast was tasty with accommodating service. From the Edition Toranomon's distinctive scent on arrival to checkout, everything felt perfect. The room was clean and spacious, with a super comfortable bed, and the staff were amazingly friendly.

We felt safe around the hotel even when coming back late, and the nearby subway entrance made it easy to get around Tokyo. Two restaurants within walking distance were highlights: Balcony on 6th Pancake House was amazing, and Arigataya, a Japanese wagyu steak house, had the best meal of our trip. Our room was large and well stocked, the bed was very comfortable, and the views were stunning. We loved switching off the lights, opening the drapes, and taking in the city at night. Breakfast room service was prompt, tasty, and offered plenty of choices. Service was uneven. The front desk manager treated us like royalty at check-in, recognized our Platinum status, walked us to our room, and showed us around. The next day, though, the restaurant hostess acted as if we were a nuisance from the moment we approached. The good outweighed the bad, but that needs improvement. The opaque glass doors to the shower and toilet don't latch or lock, and the reflection in the toilet door wasn't pleasant. You can see through those doors, so bear that in mind if you're sharing with a friend or business traveler. The tub was too small for a proper soak, and its high sides made getting in and out difficult for me at 5'3". We stayed four nights at the Toranomon Edition and had a good experience overall.

The hotel sits right by a subway exit, and its high-end design is striking: light wood, plenty of greenery, and indirect lighting in the lobby and rooms on the 31st floor and above, with an impeccable Tokyo Tower view. The large, high-tech room had lots of lighting options for setting the mood. The gym had weights as well as running and biking machines, and the indoor pool was heated and comfortable. You need to reserve a pool time slot to manage the crowd. We arrived very early, before a room was available, which was understandable. Shun at the front desk kindly provided what we needed to freshen up and head into the city, and helped with other requests and recommendations. It made the stay pleasant and effortless. I'd recommend it to anyone after a high-end place close to plenty of things.

The team made the biggest impression on us. We've stayed at many luxury hotels, but none matched how warm, authentic, and genuine every interaction felt, from arrival through departure. Staff were attentive without hovering and helped with local suggestions, bookings, and small details that made the stay feel special. The Tokyo Edition itself is stunning, with lovely architecture and layout, calm spaces, and beautiful views across the city and harbor, including a mesmerizing view of Tokyo Tower that's hard to beat. We left refreshed and very well looked after, already talking about a return. Highly recommended for a welcoming Tokyo stay where everything's taken care of.
