The hotel gave us unusually high-quality service throughout our three weeks in Japan. Laundry came back the same day, every item carefully folded with a slip of paper and sealed in a cellophane bag, like a new shirt from a shop. I told my wife we might never see that level of quality and service again. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with well-prepared Western and American choices alongside a good range of Japanese dishes. It's not inexpensive, but you get what you pay for, and I'd happily splurge on a return visit. We chose it for our three days in Tokyo, and it was the best decision of the trip. Set within part of the preserved historical train station, the hotel has a rich history. Our room had high ceilings, period-appropriate decor, and a relaxing Onsen-style tub that felt great after a day on our feet. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English well, which made our first days in Japan easier. Its biggest advantage is direct access to modern Tokyo station through two private entrances. From there, trains and subways can take you around Tokyo or to other cities. The system is vast, and after a long day it's a relief to have a convenient way back to the hotel. The long corridors can be confusing at first, with similar-looking period decor, so pay attention when the bellman shows you the way. He pointed out how the different-colored light bulb marks the elevator, which helps you find it. The hotel is a true high-class place, and access to the city's biggest transit station is an indispensable luxury.

Japan can feel overwhelming, but the kind, sincere team at the Tokyo Station Hotel made us feel we were in safe hands. When we left, they even took us to the train platform, saving us the trouble of finding our way through Japan's busiest station. Beautiful hotel, fantastic breakfast, and wonderful staff. 100% would recommend!

The hotel was wonderful, and the historical details inside really tell the story of its glorious past. A guided tour with Mr. Araki gave a detailed explanation of the dome's design and helped me understand the hotel's history better. At the front desk, Ms. Miyamoto was so friendly that I felt at home. I did notice two small problems: the thermometer in the drawer showed an "L," as though its battery was running low, and couldn't be used; and there was a kitchen smell in the hallway in the morning. Neither affected how much I enjoyed the stay. If I visit Tokyo again, I'd choose this hotel. Thanks again to Ms. Miyamoto, Mr. Araki, and all the staff for making it such a pleasant, memorable visit.

Service was impeccable, with staff who were exceptionally attentive and professional, and the breakfast buffet was delicious and beautifully presented. Waking up to the complimentary newspaper added to the refined feel. The architecture and interiors are the real draw: the original "Tatsuno-style" red brick exterior pairs beautifully with the elegant, modern spaces. Even the minimalist glass dividers in the ground-floor restaurant call to mind Taisho-era romance. Classical European-style furnishings, fresh flowers along the long halls, and historical photographs carry that sense of history into the rooms and corridors. Staying here felt like a privilege. A few practical issues kept it from a full five stars. Our bathroom had a slight but persistent musty smell from the pipes, which clashed with the luxury feel. The restaurants also close quite early, so on a late arrival night we couldn't get dinner at the hotel, a real inconvenience for a luxury property. And the distinctive long, straight corridor layout is beautiful but can be disorienting, making it easy to lose your way. Despite those quirks, the hotel's charm and historical significance are hard to match, and I'd gladly return. I'd just hope for a room with updated plumbing and plan dinner better. My stay at The Tokyo Station Hotel was largely magnificent, like staying in a living museum.

The room faced inward, so we kept the curtains closed most of the time, though it was still fun to watch people now and then. It looked every bit as luxurious as the photos. We finished our trip here so we could take a train straight to HND Airport, and when we had more luggage than expected, the staff went out of their way to find a taxi big enough for all of it. Getting there was easy: we took the bullet train to Tokyo Station and walked right into the Tokyo Station Hotel. Before our stay, TSH’s concierge contacted us to check we had what we needed and gave us a direct number for help. At the entrance, the bellhops invited us to set down our bags, loaded them onto a cart, and escorted us to our room. I can't recall her name, but one staff member gave outstanding service and a personal tour of the hotel's history. It's pricey, but I'd recommend it for a Tokyo visit. It was a perfect end to our trip, and we'd happily return, whether for the first nights or the last ones.
