Tokyu Stay Tsukiji (Tokyo Ginza Area)

The room was clean and had a balcony looking out toward Tsukiji Market, so we could get a glimpse of the market atmosphere. It was especially quiet at night and suited a longer stay. There’s a washing machine with a very quiet dryer, induction stove, microwave, large fridge with freezer, and Refa hair dryer. My hair felt super smooth after using it, and I liked heating milk and bread for breakfast each morning. Getting around was easy: Tsukiji Station on the Hibiya Line is a five-minute walk, and Ueno is seven stops away without a transfer for the Skyliner to Narita Airport. Higashi-Ginza is walkable, and Ginza is two stops away. There are many restaurants nearby, especially sushi places, since the hotel has no restaurant. Checkout on the machine took about 30 seconds. The hotel feels a little older, so modern décor fans might be disappointed. My 18m² room felt right for one but could be tight for two. Also, the first-floor elevator area is near a smoking room, so smoke-sensitive guests might notice it. I loved the location and amenities and would stay here again on my next Tokyo trip.

The front desk was great when we needed to send our luggage to the next hotel. The clerk filled in the form and arranged for the bags to arrive at our hotel room. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant, and check-in was easy. Our room had everything we needed, including an in-room washer-dryer that we could run while we were out. It felt cozy and a little snug, but there was enough room for our luggage, which seems normal for Japan. The hotel is right by the fish market, so there’s always something new to try for a quick breakfast. I loved all the amenities. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Japan.

The main drawback was the small room. It could feel cramped with luggage or on a longer stay, though that’s common in Tokyo. Otherwise, Tokyu Stay Tsukiji was clean, modern, and well maintained, with friendly, helpful staff. The location is especially convenient for exploring Tsukiji and getting around Tokyo. A solid choice for comfort and location if compact rooms are fine with you.

The breakfast option felt like a scam to me. You pay extra expecting a proper hotel breakfast, but it’s actually served somewhere else, where tourists are packed in like sardines. It was overcrowded, confusing, poorly organized, and hard to tell what was included. Had I known, I wouldn’t have paid for it, and I would have chosen another hotel altogether. There are plenty in the area with better service and a much clearer breakfast arrangement.
