Hoppy Street has lots of izakayas, and we stumbled across this small spot there. The booths work best for groups of four or fewer. With all the hot plates going, it can get pretty warm inside, so we were glad to get a table by the door. We had Mentai Mochi Cheese Monja, Gyu Suji Negi Monja with added Kimchi and Baby Star crunchy ramen. Add the Baby Star right before eating if you want it to stay crunchy. We also tried Tonpeiyaki and Delux Monja. The Delux wasn’t that tasty to me, and if you like pork and seafood, I’d add some toppings to it. There are Japanese instructions on the wall for cooking Monja, and the staff are around to help if you get it wrong. It was a really fun place, and I’d visit again.
