Yadoya Uguisu

The room was spacious, even though there were just two of us, and I was very happy with the room and its facilities: hair dryer, microwave, small oven, fridge, and kettle. The toilet was clean and nice, with the modern water spray feature you find in many places in Japan. A few things brought my rating down to three stars. The kitchen sink pipe smelled bad, and so did the sofa and cushions. The pillow had little beads inside rather than being soft and fluffy, which may not suit everyone. We also hadn’t realized when booking that the room was on the second floor with no lift. Carrying our medium-sized suitcases upstairs was quite a challenge for my sister and me.

The tatami room, separate shower and bath, and full kitchen made this spacious two-bedroom stay feel like home, with a lovely Japanese touch. It was quiet and comfortable too. One of our best stays in Asakusa, highly recommended.

We had a huge apartment with a large kitchen and bathroom, and were comfortable throughout. Our room had three twin beds, including one on a non-standard frame, plus space for four tatami mattresses. It’s tucked away from the main roads, so it was quiet, and sits between two JR stops. The rooms weren’t as clean as I’d have liked, and there was a strange smell from the kitchen. That’s why I gave it four stars, though the rest of our stay was great.

A lovely little place, and much roomier than we understand is usual in Tokyo.
