The apartment felt very uncomfortable from the start. We arrived an hour and a half early and asked whether we could leave our bags at reception while it was being prepared. We didn’t want to rush the person there. He was friendly but didn’t speak English, which made it hard to communicate. We tried to explain there was no hurry since we knew we were early, but he said the apartment was ready and gave us the key soon after we arrived. Cleanliness was by far the biggest problem. Dust and grime were easy to spot on picture frames, light fixtures, shelves, in corners, and in the gap between the washing machine and wall. The kitchen cabinets had sticky fingerprints. The toilet seat lid had an obvious gap with dust and pubic hair in it, which was disgusting. It seemed like the place hadn’t had a deep clean in months, maybe years, given how much dirt had built up in some areas. I’m surprised by the other comments. It was probably the dirtiest place we’ve slept in for a very long time. We even wondered if the sheets had been used before, maybe because everything else was so dirty. We couldn’t find clear evidence, but they had faint stains and bits of lint on and underneath them, and no fresh, clean smell. We ended up using cleaning wipes on the table and other areas. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s business, and I considered taking pictures of all this but decided not to. Still, people considering a stay should know what we found. There were also differences from the listing on Booking.com. No kitchen utensils were provided, and you have to rent them. The location didn’t work well for us either: public transport was at least a 15-20-minute walk away, and there weren’t many restaurants or services nearby. Maybe someone would say I’m being too picky for a place with good prices, but I don’t think the price excuses this. A hotel should provide a minimum standard of cleanliness and quality regardless of cost. If that isn’t sustainable, they should raise prices or find another way to offer basic quality. If price is all that matters, it may be fine for one night’s sleep. If you pay even minimal attention to cleanliness, I highly recommend choosing somewhere else. Another review by a user called Cross Croissant closely matches our experience.
