Kohan no Yado Kojima

The owner, Hide, was extremely kind and friendly. He even drove us to the station when we checked out. Thanks, Kohan No Yado Kojima, for a pleasant and memorable stay. We had a comfortable night in this well equipped house. There’s a kitchen with utensils and a refrigerator, a living room, one bathroom, a separate toilet, and an upstairs bedroom with traditional tatami flooring. It was easy to cook there. It’s about 1-2 km from the Toya Onsen area. Without a car, the bus is an option, but the schedule is very limited and costs 200 yen per person. A taxi booked through the Go app costs around 1,300-1,500 yen for up to four people. The house is across from Lake Toya, with a peaceful, beautiful view.

Hide-san came by to welcome us soon after we arrived. The cottage is across from Toya lake and just a couple minutes’ drive from the main hotels and tourist attractions. The whole house had been updated, and the air conditioning was a welcome break from the August heat. We slept comfortably on the futon in the traditional tatami room. Towels, soap, and a full kitchen were provided. It was a very pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it to families wanting privacy and a comfortable home away from home.

The owner was kind and helpful at check-in. When we left, he came to say goodbye and gave us Hokkaido sweet corn as a souvenir. The house was very clean and fully equipped, with a parking space and a convenient location for getting around. We highly recommend staying here.

We stayed there in winter, and it felt like a home with everything ready. There was a kitchen, living room, and all the accommodations we needed. There were four of us, including two kids, and the place was roomy and comfortable. The owner was kind and helpful too. Definitely recommend it.
