Toyama Jiyukan

Breakfast was the big surprise: there was so much variety and food that I almost wondered if it was dinner, and I was full for the morning. It gave me plenty of energy before work, and the price was good value too. The hotel building feels a little old, but it’s clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Kansui Park is right next door. I went to see the winter night illuminations, and the clear, beautiful air helped me feel refreshed. I stayed for work and would definitely come back.

On my Toyama work trip, I stayed here on October 9, 2025. The building has a historic feel, but it’s clean and spacious. Breakfast was a real treat: Japanese cuisine with a kaiseki meal that would normally cost 2,000-3,000 yen. For a place that includes that in a reasonably priced stay, I’d definitely use it again on my next business trip.

Fugan Canal Kansui Park is close by and lights up at night. The hotel is within walking distance of the station, and it was quiet. I had no problems with the room or service.

The free parking and low accommodation price were a plus, though it’s a little way from the station. I could hear deep bass from the gym above during the day, even without booking a room then. The building is old, so perhaps that’s unavoidable, but sound seems to carry. This was my first business hotel stay, and I lost the neighbor lottery: people were talking from about 9 PM until after midnight. If you’re sensitive to noise or have sensitive skin, I wouldn’t recommend it. The room had a retro Showa-era feel, and the unit bathroom toilet had a heated seat. I really liked the ice maker in the vending machine area.
