Hotel Crown Hills Arakawaoki (BBH Hotel Group)

The room was much too narrow and wasn't clean. Customer service was bad too.

It's right by the Joban line, with a direct train to Ueno Tokyo.

The breakfast buffet has kenchin soba, which was delicious. The room was average in size, with a fairly wide bed, and I liked the bright LED ceiling light, like you'd find in a regular home. I don't care for the dim lighting common in hotels. It's a typical business hotel in front of the station, though set back a little from the rotary, so it's relatively quiet. Parking is free and reserved for hotel guests, in an open-air lot within the designated area rather than a mechanical system, which makes parking and leaving easy. The photo shows how I chose to serve my food, so forgive the not-so-pretty presentation.

The hotel was a little noisy at night, especially being near the station, and I could hear a lot from the surrounding area. I think earplugs are needed. Still, I'd stay here again if I get the chance. I was there three nights for work, and the breakfast buffet had limited choices, but included bread, raw eggs, natto, and a few other things. The menu changed each day, so breakfast was something to look forward to. Dinner was curry, and somehow I never got tired of eating it daily. Some people took one plate of curry sauce and another of rice. I had no particular issue with the customer service. It didn't happen to me, but a later arrival was able to borrow a key before someone who had checked in earlier. The first person was annoyed, but...
