Hotel MyStays Utsunomiya

It used to be good, but now it isn't. With the plan where rooms aren't cleaned during consecutive nights, they don't collect the garbage either. If you want fresh linens, including towels, you have to ask for them out loud at the front desk on the ground floor. That's poor service and low hospitality, and it made the stay uncomfortable. They should offer another solution like other hotels do, or stop offering such a cheap service. I'd recommend a different nearby hotel unless you're staying just one night. The bed was comfortable, which mattered most to me, and the room had good equipment. Mine was a small single, though, and maintenance could be better: one closet door was barely attached. The location is very central, the staff are lovely, and the entrance is quite impressive. There's an underground parking lot, but if you're on a motorbike, the bicycle parking beside the station is a better option. It's a short walk away.

The room was large and had a huge refrigerator, and breakfast was good. Staff were all amazing, and the hotel was clean and well located. There are good izakayas nearby, plus a couple of fantastic onsens close by or reachable by bus. The price was great too. I'd definitely stay here again.

I've stayed here three times. It's quiet, the rooms are clean, and the service is polite. The rooms are a little old, but good for the price, with free WiFi and amenities. Most floors have an ice dispenser and vending machine, and there's a Famimart and gyoza restaurant right outside at street level. The buffet breakfast has hot food, though that selection could be better. The gym was closed, unfortunately. It'd be great if the 1100 yen parking fee were included for guests.
