Hotel Belle Foret

The room was a decent size, and the air conditioning cooled it really well. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water, which felt great after walking around and getting sweaty. The bathtub was cozy and nice for a warm soak, too. I was happy with it and would recommend the place. The power went out while I was drying my hair. They explained this can happen when the air conditioner, lights, hairdryer, and refrigerator are all drawing power at once. A staff member responded right away and kindly explained what happened. I was careful the next time, and it didn’t happen again.

I stayed for about a month for work. Though the building is old, the rooms are spacious and clean, and I wasn’t bothered by noise from neighbors. The cleaning and front desk staff were very kind, which made for a comfortable stay.

I deliberately picked this place over Toyoko Inn because Japanese hotels are all small, and I’m very happy with the price and the friendly service. It’s just a short walk down the alley behind Tiara Mall.

It’s about 950 meters from Izuhara Port, an easy enough walk, and many restaurants and major sights are reachable on foot. Tiara shopping mall is about 200 meters away. Kaneishi Castle Ruins, the Monument Commemorating the Marriage of Princess Deokhye, and the Tsushima Museum are also close. Restaurants, cafes, izakayas, and the Tsushima Soy Sauce Factory are within a 10-minute walk, so it was easy to leave the car at the hotel and explore. The staff were friendly. On the first floor, guests could use the vending machine, ice maker, and microwave, and there was also sashimi soy sauce, salt, and wooden chopsticks. A laundry room was on the 1.5th floor. There was only one washing machine, but I was told it was free. The hallways and rooms were bright and spacious. The place felt a little dated, but well maintained. At check-in, you choose a breakfast time and Japanese or Western food. The Japanese breakfast came about 10 minutes after the reserved time, and the Western one about 20 minutes late. It seemed they warmed the bread, fried the eggs and bacon, and heated the sausages after guests arrived and sat down. If you need to eat on a tight schedule, allow for a bit of a delay. There’s room for four cars beside the building. They said they’d give us directions to a contracted lot if that filled up. The bathroom bin for feminine hygiene products was full, presumably because it hadn’t been emptied, and water drained slowly because of hair in the bathtub drain. The stay was good overall. If you’re only visiting Izuhara, I think Belfore Hotel has excellent facilities and a great location.
