GOOD

I stayed in April 2018. There’s free parking right in front, with 5 spaces, and you can use various credit cards. It’s an older traditional business hotel in downtown Tsushima, but the service was good and I had no particular problems. The room has an outlet near the pillow. The bathroom and toilet are a bit small, though there’s a bidet. The hotel has no Wi-Fi of its own, but the free Wi-Fi available throughout Tsushima can be used here. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, plus a FamilyMart within walking distance, so finding food isn’t an issue. There’s also a restaurant on the first floor. Breakfast is prepared ahead of time. The portions were a little small, but it tasted good. The price is reasonable, and it’s a typical business hotel. By car, it’s about 20 minutes from Tsushima Airport, 5 minutes from Izuhara Port, and 1 hour 50 minutes from Hitakatsu Port. The distances are 12km, 1km, and 80km respectively.
The owner was the only one handling things, and I was really glad they took the time to deal with the situation patiently. There don’t seem to be many staff, so I suppose that explains why the room was a little dirty. It wasn’t very noticeable, but there was black mold in a corner of the bathroom ceiling. More parking and a refrigerator would be good.
The breakfast was neat and pretty good. I’d heard other hotels in Tsushima don’t serve natto because Koreans don’t eat it and it leads to food waste, but here they prepared a small amount for me. When I asked for hot water, they also gave me a thermos. They were kind in that way. The old building was drafty and a bit dirty, and it didn’t feel like the typical Japanese hotel I expected. It had the old-fashioned inn atmosphere I’d seen on TV. At least there was an elevator, so I didn’t have to haul my suitcase up the stairs. I knew a hotel in Tsushima might not be great, but if you go prepared, it seems okay for one night.
The location is good, and the owner was friendly and treated us really well. Breakfast was satisfying too. It feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel, but I’d recommend staying here in Tsushima. You can book through Rakuten, though it doesn’t appear on Jalan.
