Sloth Glamping

I’ve rented cars for a few trips to Tsushima Island, which is near Busan. This time I tried glamping instead of a hotel for a change. Hotel rooms in Japan can feel cramped, so the generous space at a fairly reasonable price appealed to me. It worked well with my preschooler, who could run around, and we made some lovely memories that way.

We had the whole building to ourselves on my first visit, which made it easy to relax. It was below freezing outside, but the floor heating kept us warm. We cooked our own food this time without using the BBQ stove, though I’d like to try a BBQ on another visit. There’s a good range of alcoholic and other drinks, and they can deliver pizza and hors d’oeuvres, so you don’t have to bring anything along. I’d come back.

This was my second stay, this time with a friend and our newborn. We got there before check-in, and they still welcomed us so warmly. Since we planned to cook, they lent us equipment that wasn’t in the room, which was a big help. Even with the cold outside, the air conditioning and floor heating kept us comfortable. The staff were thoughtful and kind from check-in onward, and we had a really pleasant stay ♡ We’ll definitely return.

The site is up in the mountains, but only a short bike ride from the port. I wasn’t expecting much from a glamping place, but it was cleaner and nicer than I’d thought. The information desk sells simple snacks and drinks like soda, beer, ramen, and more, and they have ice too. You can rent a gas stove for 1,500 yen. The heater and floor boiler kept us warm, everything was clean and odor-free, and the hot water was great. Nagisa-no-yu Onsen is nearby, just a short walk.
