Hotel Select Inn Tsuyama

The hotel is reasonably priced and close to a shopping mall. The bathroom was clean, but much too small.

There’s enough room to spread out your things, and I was able to check in early and rest after seeing the cherry blossoms. For the price, the room was fine, although the bathtub is small. With a supermarket and McDonald’s nearby, shopping and food are easy. I stayed during a trip to the Mimasaka area of Okayama on 2026/04/11. It’s reasonably priced and very close to Tsuyama Castle, so it works well if you’re driving. The parking lot is small, though, so if you’re renting a car, definitely pick a small one.

The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated that the hotel had provided an extension cord when I noticed there were no outlets by the window. The building is quite old and has no soundproofing, so voices in the hallway carry. My room’s window faced a private garden. It’s close to Higashi Tsuyama Station, but tucked out of sight and hard to find. The parking lot is small; I was the last to arrive and it was extremely cramped. Cars numbered 3 aren’t allowed. The unit bathroom was tiny, cramped even for someone petite like me. This is room-only, with no food.

For 6800 yen a night, the price is reasonable, and I hope they put some of that toward improvements, even gradually. The bed was comfortable and the amenities were good. The rooms are clean, but the facilities are old; it’s a shame for the staff that they haven’t been renovated a bit. The hotel is a three-minute walk from Higashi-Tsuyama Station, and the front desk staff were polite. Breakfast is included and runs until 8:50 AM, but when I went down at 8, most of the food and juice were already gone. There were no staff visible, and it seemed nobody was checking the buffet. I called out at the counter, and someone came from the back saying they’d refill things right away, but there wasn’t time to wait in the morning. In the end, all I got was shredded cabbage and bread. All the Japanese side dishes were gone.
