The three of us checked in at the Global Hotel, then went to a place called (Ashigo), about a three-minute walk away. Our room had bunk beds and space for four. It seemed newly renovated and felt clean, and the bathroom was a unit bath. We could use the washing machine and microwave for free, which is handy if you need them. The Wi-Fi worked well. It was a cold day, which may explain the temperature difference, but the top bunk was hot while the bottom one was cold. I would have liked a table and chairs. The TV was mounted so high that I ended up not watching it.

The staff spoke gently, which put me in a good mood first thing in the morning. Breakfast was delicious too, especially the barley miso soup and grilled fish. My father is from Nagasaki, and even though I'm from Osaka, I use barley miso and Kyushu soy sauce at home, so those flavors feel like home to me. Nagasaki food is just so good. The price was great, and the hotel had amenities, everything we needed, and Wi-Fi. There was a strong cigarette smell on the floor when we got out of the elevator, which concerned my daughter and me since neither of us smokes, but the room itself was fine. We were six people, my daughter and me, plus my aunt's family of four children, and split across three rooms. Other reviews seemed mixed, but I thought it was a good stay. The station entrance is about 100 meters away, around the rotary, though not all the way to the ticket gates. Is that far? It's a small city, so being that near the station is nice. I live in Osaka and have never stayed by Osaka Station, but it's huge, and even walking to the gates is exhausting. I often get massages when I travel and have had plenty of masseuses. This one was excellent. Even with my shoulder blindness, I could tell she was a real professional. She listened to how much pressure I wanted on my lower back, shoulders, and neck, and hit the pressure points just right. We were worn out from the car trip, and the massage really eased the fatigue. Thank you. If you've read this, give them a try if you get the chance. Long post, I know, but I'd definitely stay here again if I visit Isahaya.

The fifth floor hallway already smelled bad when I stepped out of the elevator, and the room was worse, probably because it was a smoking room. I couldn't adjust the air conditioning. The dry air may have made me cough while I was sleeping, and I didn't sleep well.

I was here three nights for work. My room was clean, though the hotel itself felt kind of flimsy. The main frustration was breakfast. I wondered if it was really worth 1,000 yen. My company paid, so it was fine, but I'd have been annoyed to pay myself and would rather buy something at a convenience store. The only one is a FamilyMart in front of the Isahaya Station ticket gate, or so I think. Is that actually close? I'm not sure. There are quite a few izakayas and snack bars in a nearby multi-tenant building, so drinking options should be fine. That's all from a Kyoto native~

I booked here out of desperation because I planned to catch an early flight and couldn't find a hotel in Togitsu or Omura. It was a weekend during the lantern festival. The hotel is in central Isahaya, conveniently close to the station. My room was in the annex, but it was clean, and the facilities and surroundings were perfectly adequate for me. For the price, I was very satisfied. One small detail I appreciated was that the toothbrush had just the right softness.
