The kids were happy playing with the safari toys and trying the projector games, and all four of us had plenty of room. Our room had a lounge area and cooking facilities, with four comfortable king single/double beds. There was also a bigger shared room and kitchen, though we didn't use them. Check-in was easy, parking was available, and the staff were very friendly. Their English was limited, but we managed to get directions to our room. It's a quiet spot with a supermarket and a few restaurants a short drive away or about a 5-10 minute walk. A nice little stop on our trip, and the hostel seemed family friendly.

The outdoor theme gives the place a nice feel, and I really liked the large kitchen and spacious common room. My main complaints were the dorm: it felt cramped, and every little sound from neighboring capsules came through. There are only two men's showers on the ground floor, too.

The self-service setup was easy and convenient, and the room was spacious for a better price than other places. It was quiet, clean, and looked just like the website photos. All the facilities seemed well maintained. Great place.

We only booked one night and regretted that almost right away. The safari room was huge, with its own fully equipped kitchenette, and the kids and we loved playing there for hours. We all slept peacefully, too. 365BASE outdoor hostel has a welcoming atmosphere and rooms with different themes. Hamamatsu itself is a lovely place to visit, especially for Gyoza lovers. We'll definitely come back, and stay longer next time.

The projector, TV and sound were really nice, and there was lots of fun stuff in the facilities. But I couldn't sleep once the room got bright around 4am. The beds are right by the window, and even on a cloudy day it felt like sleeping outside. Anyone who needs a dark room could have a hard time here. They really need blackout curtains around the bed area. Even a tent would be darker.
