We chose this place because it was close to Suzuki Plaza. The staff were helpful and accommodating to us Australians, and our large room had plenty of space, a full-size bath and shower, and a nice balcony view. Breakfast came included at no extra cost. It’s an older, quaint hotel that seems to have been built to high standards. Nothing to complain about, and I’d stay again.

There wasn’t any cool air available for the whole building, and the setting would only change during summer. The room was bigger than average for Japan, but it felt dated and dusty. I’m sensitive to dust and had an allergy attack after just one night. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have other options.

The bathroom was great, with a heated toilet seat and excellent shower pressure. But my carpet had awful stains all over, and I could smell smoke despite being in a non-smoking room. Taking the key out of the slot switched off all the room’s electricity, including the air conditioner. After removing the key, only one outlet still worked.

The facilities are very old, though they were maintained well. Breakfast was free and mostly Japanese food. Hamamatsu station is walkable, but it took a good 15 minutes. There’s no public transport or shuttle, so a taxi is the only other option.
