Four Points Flex by Sheraton Nagoya Station

The room is really small for a double bed, which is pretty typical in Japan, but the service and location are both immaculate. It’s very close to restaurants and Nagoya JR station. Rachel at the front desk was incredibly helpful with check-in, planning our Nagoya itinerary, and recommending local specialities. We also left something behind right after checking out, and the staff acted super quickly to recover it. The people and location were amazing!

This is a functional budget room if you just need somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice for such a small room. There were generous amenities, and it was nice to have coffee and tea at reception. The room itself was very small: the double bed had one side against the wall, and we barely fit with two people and two suitcases. One bag went on the rack and the other on the narrow countertop. We had some trouble keeping the heater on, but reception reset it when we called. Nagoya Station is a short walk away, though the underground passageway route meant stairs. When leaving, we decided to call a grab to the station.

The bed was comfy, and the room felt comfortable and a bit larger than the usual Japanese business hotel room. Still, the stay was underwhelming compared with this chain’s Southeast Asia locations. The facilities seem a little old. They don’t give you bottled water, which is eco-friendly, but it means you can only drink from the hotel water cooler and can’t take water along when you go out. It was okay, just not impressive.

There are plenty of eateries nearby, and Nagoya JR station is only about a 10-minute walk away, which is really convenient. Check-in is on the second floor. The room was clean and small, as is usual for Japanese hotels, but the bathroom was bigger than in most hotels I’ve stayed in. You can open the windows, though cigarette smoke from the street below could drift into the room.
