Mieux forest

A great spot for a family weekend. There’s a full day of things to do, from pendant making and trout fishing to hiking, then an evening bonfire.

Waking up to fresh air and nature sounds was a lovely part of our peaceful overnight stay at Mu Forest Uenohara. The place sits among lush greenery, and the accommodations were cozy, clean, and nicely maintained, with a rustic feel. Staff were welcoming and attentive. A good fit if you’re after a quiet break surrounded by nature.

I brought my students and fellow teachers for a school spring camp, and everyone had a fantastic time. The schedule was full, with egg hunting, sword battles, pendant making, fishing, a BBQ, and a bonfire, all of which the students and teachers rated highly. Mr. Yamamoto and the staff had organized everything so well that we didn’t need to prepare anything ourselves. Mieux Forest Adventure had some seriously challenging riddles and puzzles, but it was translated into English for my students. The breakfast and lunch were great too. Best camp we’ve had so far!

Watching the campfire under the stars with the provided hot milk was my favorite part. My six-year-old son keeps talking about the sword battle event, which he seemed to enjoy most. We’d never camped before, but cooking over the BBQ and making breakfast gave us that camping feeling and made a great memory for the kids. We stayed one night in a tent room in mid-February, with a little snow still on the ground. The heating in both the tent and the deck kept us warm for BBQ and breakfast, and we slept comfortably. It was camping season, so there were no bugs, and the room and deck were clean and comfortable. The staff were kind, helpful, and very hospitable.
